Things I love:
- Girl boss business owners
- "Made in Canada"
- Minimal & versatile items
You too? Scroll down for spring outfit details (thank God it's finally getting warmer out!!).
TOP - CassBurr Designs
My friend Cassandra started CassBurr Designs - a line of minimal and super comfy pieces that are wardrobe staples. I'm wearing the Shauna Top which is 100% Bamboo, making it really light and perfect for spring/summer. I love the aesthetic of the uneven hemline! I juuuust received this in the mail this week, complimentary of Unco. (more on that soon! Stay tuned).
HAIR - Lou La Belle
One of my new favourite brands: Lou La Belle. Founded by Alyssa in PEI, Lou La Belle makes all natural skincare & hair products. I rarely have time to do my hair (aka I'd rather sleep in than wake up early and style it...) so all I wear in my hair now is 1 product to spritz & go! Mermaid Waves Sea Salt Texturizing Spray is effortless, and weightless - perfect for a little beachy bounce! Spray into damp hair & let air dry for a simple look.
NECKLACE - Beck & Boosh
Beck & Boosh is female-owned jewellery & accessories brand out of Truro, Nova Scotia. I first met the women behind the brand at Atlantic Fashion Week, and have been inspired by them ever since! The necklace I'm wearing here is the Wrangler - which is not only simple and delicate, but also really versatile. You can adjust the necklace length by pulling on the cord, to suit any neckline or look. I love the white & gold rope chain, and pink accent gemstone (all my favourite colors!). It's also affordable at just $26! You can use code "wrangler" at the checkout for an additional 10% off ;)
PURSE - Kayley's closet
This little change purse is my favourite little accessory - and it's from my own closet! I don't know how long I've had this, or where I got it, but I found it at the back of my closet when I was home for the holidays. I've had it for years!
HAIR TIE - Ponytail Mail
Handmade in Toronto, Ponytail Mail is a super cute monthly hair tie subscription that I found on Instagram! These hair ties won't crease or rip your hair, and come in every colour you can imagine. My favourite thing about these hair ties is that you can wear them on your wrist and they actually look stylish! I always have hair ties on me just in case I need to throw my hair up, but these ribbon ties are way cuter than the plain old black ones that get lost everywhere.
MAKE-UP - Nudestix
If you follow me on Instagram, you've seen me rave about Nudestix a lot. And the love is REAL. Nudestix is another Toronto-based brand founded by an amazing daughter-mother team. They create super easy-to-use make-up crayons that are cruelty free and contain no parabens or preservatives. Nudestix empowers women to #GONUDEBUTBETTER with simple multi-purpose pencils (I'm wearing the Intense Matte & Cheek Pencil in Belle). You can get 15% off with the code kayleyrbb15 at nudestix.ca
Can you believe everything in this post is Canadian?!
It can be easy to buy from big chains that manufacture overseas - but these brands don't break the bank, and it's surprisingly easy to support local when you put a little time into finding awesome women-run companies :)
