Blogger's Brunch: Montreal
I started Blogger’s Brunch a few months ago as a way to bring together female bloggers, influencers & content creators to build relationships IRL. Always behind our screens, BB became a safe space for women to connect and collaborate, to ask questions without fear of judgement, to learn from each other, and support each other in building our personal brands.
“Another woman’s success does not take away from your own. Women are not your competition.”
From our first sold out brunch in Saint John, to partnering with Joe Fresh for meet-ups in Toronto and Vancouver, to now hosting a Blogger’s Retreat in Montreal. The past few months have been so inspiring, and I’ve met soon many creative, passionate, and ambitious women.
Last weekend was the Blogger’s Retreat in Montreal. Girls came from Halifax, New Brunswick, and Toronto to spend the weekend in Montreal - a big slumber party, but also an opportunity for content creation, workshops and connecting with local influencers.
Allie - one of my besties, who is killing it in the blogging world right now - also came to co-host the weekend.
We stayed at a super cute Sonder apartment in the Plateau, and spent the first evening getting to know each other, sharing a bit about our goals for the weekend, and indulging in sangria (duh).
Friday morning, Allie and I hosted a workshop on Working with Brands (in another instagram-worthy location, thanks Breather).
Allie has recently worked with some big brands like LG, Lexus, and Tim Hortons (never mind shooting back stage at New York Fashion Week in the past…), so she shared insights on approaching brands, expectations, and her own story.
What I love about these types of intimate events, is that you really get to know each other in a short period of time, and can have really meaningful discussions about current challenges, ambitions, and questions. The digital influencer space is really crowded - yet there’s not a lot of resources for bloggers and content creators to reach out for help, get guidance, and support when we’re starting out. This weekend was just that.
We had 15 gals in attendance, from bloggers to instagram influencers and youtubers. It’s amazing how quickly everyone feels comfortable together, especially with a small group. We’d hosted bigger events before (40+ bloggers in Toronto!) but the intimacy of a small group is something special. Questions flowed, instagram handles were exchanged, and a lottttt of pics were taken.
Somehow the weekend ended before it began, and before the end of the brunch I was already receiving requests for more events!
I’m so so grateful for all of the girls who travelled for the Montreal retreat, for all the bloggers who came and shared insights at the brunch, for all of our delicious food sponsors, and our generous gift bag sponsors. With each event being more successful than the last, I can’t wait to pull more together.
If you want Blogger’s Brunch to come to your city, or have a retreat destination request, leave a comment or contact me! Let’s make it happen.
